Debut Game from Outmode Still Looking Good

Made a new concept visual for my untitled debut game from Outmode on my OpenGL/WebGL engine, Degine. Generated using Midjourney 7, this is fairly close to my vision, and also matches the art for the game that was already completed. Planning on using this as a test to see what is necessary to complete a minimum viable product for Degine, and also launch on various platforms as a playtest before releasing the engine publicly.
The game itself is designed as a simple one screen shooter, like the old SEGA game Space Harrier. The character model is final (was contracted last year) but doesn’t have animation yet. For the background I’ll likely just do a procedural sky and looping texture on the ground. The hex tiling I recently added to the engine should keep the ground high quality, and I’m doing research now into sky rendering. I read a paper on multiple scattering atmospheric rendering, just need time to understand the math. Hoping this could be a short 3 month kinda project, I’ll have to keep the scope manageable.
