Odyssey 3D Supported on Rendepth Reshade

Just dropped a video of Assassin’s Creed Shadows running in 3D on the Odyssey 3D, Samsung’s new “glasses free” 3D display. This monitor looks absolutely nuts in 3D. Sadly, it’s just about impossible to photograph due to the way the 3D works, and the eye-tracking cameras. I did attempt to capture it on my phone and honestly was debating if I should even share the image, cause it really doesn’t do Samsung any justice. But at least you can see that I do own the monitor and not taking you for a ride.

Video is long as hell, but I go into a deep dive on the software support situation. While only a handful of games are officially supported, there’s a fairly large amount of titles that can work using aftermarket software or mods. For my own project, doing depth buffer conversion, I had only verified a little over 10 games, but, based on the research, I estimate that hundreds of games may work (to varying degrees). Other projects have actual geometry-based 3D (e.g. not a conversion), and adding up everything could be as many as 1,000 games working. Some of the software does require setup, or per-game tweaks, but it’s likely not harder than any other mods on PC gaming in general.

Video above is also in YouTube3D format. Unfortunately, they dropped support for a lot of older legacy formats. In the embed you can either do red/cyan anaglyph or 2D, though if you have a supported stereo device (Meta Quest, Lume Pad 2) then you can see the actual 3D version of the content. For compatibility, I also uploaded a SBS version of the same video (linked in the description), for either newer XR glasses that use that format, or legacy 3D displays. Just note that YouTube compression botched the quality on the codec somewhat, so the stream is lesser quality than the local file I uploaded.
